Wednesday lovin'

happy hump day lovers.
I'm so glad it's already Wednesday and the weekend is sooo close!

Are y'all getting excited for some march madness??
I know my Kentucky girls are....cough cough Whitney ;)

My team VCU plays tomorrow night and I couldn't be more excited! I will definitely be reppin' my shirt to work :) We apparently aren't favored in that game buuuut did that stop us last year?
that's all I'm gonna say....no need for jinxing

If it hasn't been apparent on my blog, or if you're new to it, you need to know that I'm a huge Colts fan. Well first we lose Peyton and then we clearly don't want to keep any of our receivers or linemen. However, we did somehow manage to re-sign Reggie Wayne and that makes me a happy girl.

aaaaand I'm totally in love with this weather.
except for the fact that I still need to workout a bit and get some color on these ghostly legs.

I'm loving my Pinterest finds this month -

Kony, Peyton, & a Blate

I have a few things for you beauties today.

Unless you're a caveman, then I'm sure you saw something about the Kony Movement yesterday. Facebook, twitter, and blogs were blowing up with links and videos. Apparently this has been going on for years but it's just being brought to the attention of the american public. If you haven't yet, take the time to watch this video.
yes, it's thirty minutes.
it's worth it.
trust me.

IF THE WORLD KNOWS WHO JOSEPH KONY IS, IT WILL UNITE TO STOP HIM.
IT STARTS HERE.

KONY 2012 IS A FILM AND CAMPAIGN BY INVISIBLE CHILDREN THAT AIMS TO MAKE JOSEPH KONY FAMOUS, NOT TO CELEBRATE HIM, BUT TO RAISE SUPPORT FOR HIS ARREST AND SET A PRECEDENT FOR INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE
.

then go here and pledge to make a difference.

It was a sad day for Colts fans yesterday.
Peyton Manning was released from our team.
:'(
I literally almost cried while watching him give his farewell speech.
Not only am I sad to see him go, I'm pissed that the idiot we know as Jim Irsay aka the owner acted like he was sad. Dude, we all know those tears were fake.
As lame as it sounds, I honestly feel like Peyton died.
Watching the replay of the press conference and a special on the years we had him on our team, I felt as though I was grieving the loss of someone. And in a way, I am.
Please pinch me and wake me up from this bad dream.

We will have so many great memories of Peyton and that's what we'll remember.

On a happier note, I'm attending my first ever blogger meet-up.....
or shall I say blate, tonight.
I don't know any of these girls, and I'm kind of nervous but hey,
cheers to new friends, right? :)

happy thursday

all I do is win

We did it!!!!
We beat the Patriots
.
.
.
.
.
again!
It was a pretty good game but I knew it would come down to the last few seconds....as it usually does with the Giants. If you follow me on twitter, then you saw all my crazy/nervous tweets up until the end. I was shaking even after it was over...that's how into it I was.

I was texting back and forth with this girl during the game. Luckily we were both pulling for the giants....and share a hate for Brady and the Pats. So funny! haha
even Toby wanted in on the action.

Yaaaaaaah Giants!! Whoop whoop.
{Eli, I will totally take that brand new corvette you were given....and perhaps a date}

Ok, enough football talk.
Let's recap shall we?
Saturday I drove up to Dc to see a couple of my good friends, KJ & Sean. We decided to have a semi-girl's night which of course included pizza & sangria. We went to a cute little pizzaria in Georgetown where I tried sangria for the first time.
Verdict - delicioso!
these are the only pics I took from the weekend.
I totally suck at remembering to take them!

It's no secret, my love for fro-yo.
She introduced me to Pinkberry....which I thought for sure was like Sweet Frog. Totally different. Pinkberry is actually healthy for you! Ha, as in they don't have candy and all the little deliciousness toppings that I love to add :)
{If you have a Pinkberry nearby, I totally recommend the pomegranate yogurt. yum!}

We went back, sipped on some skinny girl cosmos, margaritas, and got ready. We ended up going to this really fun sports bar/club with 3 levels. So much fun!!

Sunday we decided it would be fun to do a little shopping and get pedicures....with a little Starbucks, of course. I wish every weekend could end like that. And with a Giants win ;)

What did you do this weekend?

Inspiration Friday Link-up

happy friday lovebugs!
did y'all have a good week?
I'm excited because I took Monday off so I get a three day weekend!!
Saturday I'm heading to DC to visit with a few of my best friends and then of course Sunday, I'll be cheering on my man and his team.

I wanna see lots of this -
sack his a$$!
C'mon Giants!!
I plan on making some healthy alternatives to the typical football food I oh so love to consume....which leads me into my favorite link up of the week :)
Photobucket

I've been talking to several of y'all during the week and I'm so excited to see that you're being inspired to work towards your goals. So grab a button and tell us what you've done this week!

Last week I shared with you three goals that I was working towards.
Reading more - I read 11 chapters of The Hunger Games on Sunday.
Making healthier choices - I had every intention of staying on track this week, but the more I think about eating healthy 24/7, it's all I can do not to go grab a burger. Oh wait, I did that! But no, I've been making smoothies every morning, eating an apple a day, and overall making better choices. Buuuut I did cheat a little and perhaps had some fro-yo after the gym on Tuesday :/
so what if it looks like a 5 year old made this.

Get in great shape - I was more consistent this week in the gym and went 3 days so far....and I plan on going tonight. I can already start to feel muscle in my arms and legs and I love that!! Up until today I've run 8.5 miles this week....it's not much but it's better than what I did last week. My struggle is being consistent so if I can get back into a routine of going, I'll be back in shape in no time.

Some other goals that I've been working towards this week are -
I was able to save a hefty amount of money this week due to an unexpected check I received in the mail.
Success!

I haven't done this yet but I'm making plans to participate in the Color Run in March.
All that's left is booking a flight and hotel....which I'm doing next week :)

I'm working on this....I've been planning lots of trips this year to places that I've been wanting to go for a while. I've also been making lots of new friends and I think every one of my trips includes at least one blogger. So stinkin' excited!!

Ok, you're turn!

Have a great weekend!!
{and go giants.....again!!} ;)

weekend lovin'

Girls, what is with these weekends flying by?!
I don't like it. not one bit.
It was so cold this weekend. Like probably colder than it's been all winter....or so it felt.
Friday night I went to Cheesecake Factory with one of my bff's Jenny.
I love this girl and I'm so excited because we could both potentially be moving to the same city in a few months, and that makes me a very happy girl :)

Saturday was supposed to be my day to go shopping but it was so gross out with the sleet that I decided to be productive and clean. Tobester got a bath so now he's all nice and clean :)

Sunday was actually the coldest day of the weekend and of course, since I had put off running my errands the day before, I had no choice but to go out. I went to Ulta to return my Big Sexy {failure} of a shampoo and to look for something new. Y'all gave me some great recommendations and believe me when I say I went around and smelled each and every one of them. Pureology was a favorite among you guys and you weren't lying when you said it was a little pricey. I go through conditioner like you wouldn't believe and I couldn't justify paying that much for such a small bottle. Redkin was another favorite among you guys so I went and checked that out. Smelled ah-mazing

I ended up going with the Extra-Body Shampoo and Conditioner by Paul Mitchell.
2/$30....not a bad deal! and I got a free brush.
whoop whoop!
I'll let y'all know how it is :)
I mean, Toby uses it so it can't be that bad right?!

I went to Whole Foods and stocked up on some delicious goodies for the week.
Being healthy is not cheap but it's totally worth it.
The new gym is calling my name so size 2 here I come!!

And of course I watched the Giants game last night.
Superbowl bound baby!!!
I may or may not have had a mini photo shoot with my mac.
you know you love it.

don't forget to check out Katie's giveaway! :)

What did y'all do this weekend?
Here's to kicking off the week on a positive note!

Tagged & Life Lately

Happy Monday lovebugs!
I'm still trying to get back to each of your emails from last week....I promise I haven't forgotten about you. :) You've seen me mention a couple of times that work has been craaaazy lately and I don't think it's going to quiet down anytime soon. I'm sure y'all can tell....my posts have been slackin'. I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to start writing my posts a week at a time so I don't leave you guys with nothing. I just don't like doing that too much because blogging is an outlet for me and I enjoy writing everyday.

Anyway, let's talk weekend.
Did y'all do anything fun? I stayed in this weekend in hopes to get over this cold as quickly as possible.
Attempt - failed.
So this week I will be downing vitamins, juice, and lots and lots of water.

Well at least one of my guys won this weekend.
And it wasn't Mr. Tebow...
I hate you Tom Brady.
always have.
always will.

Last week, the lovely Dayna tagged me. I'm sure y'all have all seen this going around blog world by now but I'm going to be a good sport and play along :)

Rules-

{1} You must post the rules.
{2} Post eleven fun facts about yourself on this post.
{3} Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
{4} Tag eleven people and link them on your post
{5} Let them know you've tagged them.

11 Facts about me-

{1} I eat ice cream with a fork because I don't like milk...melted ice cream = gross.
{2} I could eat Mexican almost every day. It's ma favoriteeee!
{3} I paint my nails once a week. sometimes twice. Otherwise I'll bite my nails and there's not many things worse than finding bitten off nails. gross
{4} I love heels. I end up buying ones that are usually too high for me to walk in so they just sit in my closet. I recently started wearing my 5" ones and I love them!
{5} I'm slightly obsessed with Eli Manning.
slightly.
I'll be ordering this for next season.
I may or may not have created this myself ;)

{6} I sometimes spend more money on my dog than I do myself.
True story {and a little bit sad}
{7} I changed my major 4 times.
* First it was communications so I could do sports broadcasting
* Then I got in a serious relationship and realized I didn't wanna travel all the time and have a family so I switched to Sports Marketing.
Bonehead idea. Never again.
* Then I switched it to Sociology. totally random...not sure why.
* Finally I changed it back to communications. Sports broadcasting baby...back to where I started. Crazy how I ended right back to what I first wanted to do.
{8} I flew on a plane for the first time 3 years ago. No lie. Since then I've flown probably half a dozen times...all to new york. aaaaand all with some xanex.
me + confined spaces = bad situation
Now I actually love the experience of flying and luckily I'll get to do that several times this year :)
{9} I'm a reality tv junkie. Sad but true.
My favorites include - Teen Mom 2, Jersey Shore, The Bachelor/ette {although Ben sucks}, Real World...um speaking of, have you guys seen the commercials for Battle of the Ex's? Totally wanna do that show if I didn't have to see my ex. I know I'll be tuning into that one.
{10} I went secret shopping for wedding dresses years ago when I worked for a bridal store. It was definitely fun pretending to be a bride-to-be, but let me tell you, trying on dresses all day long will take it out of you! I didn't know how tiring it could be.
{11} I was on dive team one summer and loved it.
but not enough to do it again.

Questions from Dayna-

{1} If you could have one exotic animal, what would it be and why?
Hmm I would have to say a tiger because they are so pretty. And adorable as babies :)
{2} What would be the one power you would choose to have if you were a superhero?
I've thought about this before and I think I would have to go with teleportation. Getting wherever you wanna go in an instant? Um, yes please.
{3} What kind of car do you drive?
White, infiniti I30....a little old but it's been a good car. I'm ready for a new one though...perhaps before I move :)
{4} What is one food you could go the rest of your life without ever eating again?
Well I'm a picky eater anyway but I would say any kind of seafood. I can't stand the smell or the look of that stuff.
{5} What was your favorite subject in high school?
It was a tie between history and english. I've always loved to read and write.
{6} Name one item you can't leave the house without.
My phone? That's a given. Aside from that, I would say chapstick. If I don't have it I feel like my lips are gonna fall off before I get home.
{7} If you could have one expensive item in the world, what would you choose to have?
Ok there are two. My engagement ring from Tiffany's. Not budging on this one. And second, I'd love a new white Range Rover. ballin'
{8} What is one of your fears?
That I won't get married before I'm 30.
And spiders. I hate those things!
{9} If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
That I was more fearless. I'm such a worrier.
{10} What's a special talent of yours?
talking? haha can that count? caaaause I'm pretty good at doing that.
{11} Why did you start blogging?
I thought it would be a good way to keep track of my travels/long distance relationship. So glad I kept with it because it definitely got me through those hard times. Plus I've made a lot of great friendships with girls I wouldn't have known otherwise :)

My Questions to You -

{1} If you could go anywhere in the world, money not being an issue, where would you go and why?
{2} What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
{3} If you could have any car in the world what would you choose?
{4} If you could have dinner with 3 people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
{5} Least favorite chore.
{6} What's the best vacation you've been on?
{7} What is your food weakness? {mine is mexican....or anything sweet}
{8} What was your first concert?
{9} What's your favorite part about blogging?
{10} How many first kisses have you had?
{11} What would your dream job be?

Life Update

Good mornin' lovebugs!
I feel like it's been ages since I've written an actual post. hmm maybe because it has! oops ;)
The new year already feels like it's flying by. I feel like I haven't even had time to get in a real routine yet. I had all of these wonderful resolutions that I was excited about starting and here I am, 2 weeks in and I haven't done any of them yet. Gah, I've gotta get on that!!

Maybe I'll hang up my resolutions somewhere so I have to look at them everyday. I am slightly proud of myself though. I did make it to the store tonight to get some healthy foods. If I can get back on track with my eating then working out will be that much easier. After all, I do have some new workout gear that I'm ready to sport ;)
How have you guys been with keeping up your resolutions? We should have some sort of accountability. Like a linkup day or something. Would any of you be interested in doing that?

Anyway, I figured the best way to give you an update on my past couple weeks would be through the eye of my phone.
{I have Dayna to thank for my lovely Bama shirt} :)

Ok these next two aren't taken from my phone...obviously, although I totally wish they were!
I went out to watch my these sexy men play over the weekend. I'm calling it now-
Giants/Broncos Superbowl :)
in
my
dreams

ah, to be able to meet guys like this everyday. One day my lady friends. one day....
and we can save that story for another day :)

happy hump day!

Week Recap in Pictures

Happy Monday lovebugs!
It feels so good to be back :) I hope you're all having a great start to the week. I know I am....thank goodness tomorrow is my last day until the new year. {hollaaa!}

I feel like so much time has passed since I last blogged....well unless you count Friday, but I won't. ;) I figured the best way to fill you in was with pictures. So here you go-

 - We finally got our tree up and decorated last weekend. My phone doesn't do it justice. {Please take note of the angel actually touching the ceiling}
- Last night my family all piled in the car to go look at Christmas lights. Of course, we stopped by the infamous crazy house. There was actually a line to get into the neighborhood this year!
- I like coffee to be a dessert. Which means flavored creamer, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Yum!! :)
- Always represent my Eli, even when they lose.
- The Krispy Kreme fairy left a surprise on Saturday...yum!
- Have you ever seen a blowup snowman like this before?! He'll be featured on the next GQ spread. haha where do people find these things?!
- My favorite ornament is a grandmother mouse and a grandchild with a cup of tea and a tea bag. My grandparents gave this to me when I was little because I would always love to drink tea when we would spend the night at their house. And grandmama always used to make the best hot tea. This is usually the first ornament I will hang every year....so I can make sure it gets the best spot. :)

I finally got all of my shopping done yesterday. We do secret santa in my family and it's fun but it's also a little stressful because I like having opinions when I go shopping. I almost had to call someone in my family for help yesterday....but I couldn't bring myself to ruin the surprise. I hope my person ends up liking what I got them.... ;)

Ok, about to get on my soapbox for a min.
What was up with football yesterday? If you missed it, let me fill you in.

- the Packers lost their first game
- the Colts won their first game
- Tebow and the Broncos lost to the Patriots
and
- the Skins beat the Giants
wtf.

If you didn't know, I'm a Colts fan. I know it's random, being from Virginia and all, but I came to it honest. {thanks dad} Anyway, we've gone all season without winning a single game. Not one. Until yesterday. I get that you think a win is good to boost morale, but let's be real, whose morale are you trying to boost? It's gotten to the point where I think most Colts fans want us to lose our games. I mean, we didn't spend all season sucking just to win one game and not clinch the first round draft pick....and let the Steelers clinch a playoff spot. Are you kidding me?! Ah, super frustrating. We need to lose the next 2 games because this losing season has to be good for something. That something hopefully being this guy.
enter Andrew Luck
guaranteed 1st pick.
And if we don't get him, you are going to have a lot of angry Colts fans.
Ok, end rant.

And what weekend is a real weekend without the Tobes?
his new haircut makes him look angry all the time.
too funny!

Have a good one!

gimme some suga!

Happy Monday girls!
Did you all have a good first December weekend?
I definitely did. It was filled with shopping, football, friends, and family. Where do I even begin?

Well, I guess with the biggest news-

VT is Sugarbowl bound!

We're set to play Michigan on Jan. 3 at 8:30pm. The last time I remember them playing in the Sugarbowl, I was in middle school. I won't even tell you how long ago that was. So now the question is, New Years on Bourbon Street? I'm seriously considering it.

********

Remember how I mentioned going to a casino party Friday night?
Well, there are several things I came to realize.
1. I hate craps
2. I love blackjack
3. I need to go to Vegas asap!

Here's what I ended up with. Doesn't look like much but you're looking at over $460,000! Bam. This girl is on fire!! Unfortunately it was all in fake money.
{excuse the bad quality- my droid sucks}

*******

I also got a little Christmas shopping done this weekend. I'm nowhere near being done but it feels good to at least get started. I also bought a few things for myself {shocker there} :)

Essie- Fishnet Stockings

 Essie LuxeEffects-Shine of the Times

I might try to recreate this little number seen on Pinterest

and I also got my first set of these.
Laced-up

******

Julie, from the girl in the red shoes is hosting a Stella & Dot giveaway. Go check it out!

And just because it's Monday and we could all use a good laugh, I give you this. :)

What did y'all get into this weekend?
xoxo.
