It's that time of the week again....hump day. 

And this time I can say I'm not thrilled for it being here. That means there's less than a week until I go back to work. Blehh. I could get used to being a stay at home wife.girlfriend.mother ;)

that my family had our Christmas brunch this morning. 

Since we went to church on Sunday, we didn't get home in time for breakfast so we just went straight to lunch and presents.

Mornin' lovers!

Did y'all have a wonderful Christmas? I can't wait to read all about them :)

Was it just me or did Christmas not really feel like Christmas this year? 

We had our cousins/aunts/uncles over Christmas Eve for a white elephant swap. If there is ever a need for alcohol, that was the occasion for it. All I will say is I came out with a Starbucks card. This year we had our 'Christmas' a little later than usual. We ended up going to church and then coming home and opening gifts. 

I mentioned before that we do a Secret Santa in my family. It was so fun seeing who had who. My mom ended up having me and I got the new watch I wanted!!! I was thrilled. And now I can get rid of the one I got last year. {there may be a story behind that} Part of my 'out with the old, in with the new' attitude for next year. :) 

Also, one of my bloggy friends and I decided to exchange gifts this year. More to come on that tomorrow :) I've decided I'll spare you the overload of pictures we took this weekend and share just a few. I know, I know, you're welcome.

 Toby was excited to get the new toys his mama kept talking about :)

Awards for the Shortest Day of the Year

Good morning girlfrands :)

The final countdown is on- only 3 more days until Christmas!! 

Today is also the shortest day of the year. That means that I probably won't even make it out of my pj's at this rate. At least I can get all my presents wrapped today. Have you guys finished everything you need to before this weekend? I'll be spending most of today and tomorrow helping my mom clean for family that is coming over. 

I've also gotta squeeze a mani/pedi in there somehow. I can't decide if I want to just paint my nails or do the Sally Hansen press ons that I got. They last at least 10 days so I've gotta commit to it for Christmas and NYE if I do it....ahhh decisions! It's the little things in life, right?!

- I'm the oldest of 4 kids

- I danced for 9 years. I did it all- tap, ballet, pointe, jazz, and latin. I wish I would've kept it up but I just got burnt out after a while.

- I hate going to the movies. I'd much rather cuddle up on the couch in sweatpants with a glass of wine and watch it.

- I've never been out of the country before and only been as far west as Tennessee. I'm planning on changing that next year with a trip to Vegas....and maybe the Caribbean ;)

- I'm a bit of a coffee snob. I drink Starbucks and the coffee I make at home {complete with flavored creamer and whipped cream}

- I could listen to Michael Buble and Rascal Flatts all.day.long!

- I wanted to be a sideline reporter for the longest time. Still do....but I'm not sure if it'll ever happen.

I'm exhausted again this morning because someone, ahem, {Toby Jack} woke me up crying at 3am. I'm not sure what his deal is but it's driving me crazy!

Week Recap in Pictures

Happy Monday lovebugs!

It feels so good to be back :) I hope you're all having a great start to the week. I know I am....thank goodness tomorrow is my last day until the new year. {hollaaa!}

I feel like so much time has passed since I last blogged....well unless you count Friday, but I won't. ;) I figured the best way to fill you in was with pictures. So here you go-

 - We finally got our tree up and decorated last weekend. My phone doesn't do it justice. {Please take note of the angel actually touching the ceiling}

- Last night my family all piled in the car to go look at Christmas lights. Of course, we stopped by the infamous crazy house. There was actually a line to get into the neighborhood this year! 

- I like coffee to be a dessert. Which means flavored creamer, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Yum!! :)

- Always represent my Eli, even when they lose. 

- The Krispy Kreme fairy left a surprise on Saturday...yum!

- Have you ever seen a blowup snowman like this before?! He'll be featured on the next GQ spread. haha where do people find these things?!

- My favorite ornament is a grandmother mouse and a grandchild with a cup of tea and a tea bag. My grandparents gave this to me when I was little because I would always love to drink tea when we would spend the night at their house. And grandmama always used to make the best hot tea. This is usually the first ornament I will hang every year....so I can make sure it gets the best spot. :)

I finally got all of my shopping done yesterday. We do secret santa in my family and it's fun but it's also a little stressful because I like having opinions when I go shopping. I almost had to call someone in my family for help yesterday....but I couldn't bring myself to ruin the surprise. I hope my person ends up liking what I got them.... ;) 

Ok, about to get on my soapbox for a min.

What was up with football yesterday? If you missed it, let me fill you in.

- the Packers lost their first game

- the Colts won their first game

- Tebow and the Broncos lost to the Patriots

and

- the Skins beat the Giants

wtf.

If you didn't know, I'm a Colts fan. I know it's random, being from Virginia and all, but I came to it honest. {thanks dad} Anyway, we've gone all season without winning a single game. Not one. Until yesterday. I get that you think a win is good to boost morale, but let's be real, whose morale are you trying to boost? It's gotten to the point where I think most Colts fans want us to lose our games. I mean, we didn't spend all season sucking just to win one game and not clinch the first round draft pick....and let the Steelers clinch a playoff spot. Are you kidding me?! Ah, super frustrating. We need to lose the next 2 games because this losing season has to be good for something. That something hopefully being this guy.

And if we don't get him, you are going to have a lot of angry Colts fans. 

Ok, end rant.

Birthdays, Parties, and Everything in Between

Happy Friday loves!

I'm ecstatic we made it to the weekend. All I can say is finally!

I'm so excited to be spending this weekend with friends and family again. Olivia comes home from school tomorrow and I couldn't be more ready. Several surprises await her arrival ;)

Today is my lovely friend, Jenny's birthday. I seriously love this girl to death. I always describe her to people this way - "She's so small but she's one of the feistiest people I know. You hurt someone she cares about and she'll kick your a$$." Jenny, now you know how you're perceived :)

 I'm pretty sure we were dancing here....

but who knows.

Tonight I get to go to yet another Christmas party and the theme is naughty or nice. Could be interesting ;) and then I'm off to little miss J's bday dinner. Can't wait!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey hey pretty ladies! 

Can you believe that it's already Wednesday? I say that like the week has been flying by....which it has not been doing for me. I will say though that going Christmas shopping with my mom 3 nights in a row does make the week enjoyable :)

Today I'm going to be linking up with Jamie and Michelle but before I do that I want to mention something. I love reading all of your wonderful comments and I try to respond to each of you but some of you are listed as 'no-reply.' I don't know if y'all are aware of this or not buuut if you want it changed it's really simple. Just go to your dashboard and click edit profile. When you get down to the email section just make sure that there isn't a box checked that says no-reply and check to make sure that your email is entered in correctly and that it's visible. That should fix the problem. Just wanted to let y'all know just in case....cause I'd like to respond to you guys :)

I treated myself to a nice bottle of wine last night for being so productive :)

that this is my last full work week of the year. 

That's right. Next week I have a 4 day weekend and then the week after that I only work Monday and Tuesday. Excited doesn't even begin to describe it!

that Teen Mom 2 is back! I didn't get to watch it last night so we all know what I'll be doing today. But can I just say how Tuesday nights are now epic for tv watching? Glee, New Girl, Last Man Standing, and now Teen Mom. Happy girl here :)
