Smashbox BB Cream Review

I promised last week that I'd review the new
Smashbox BB Cream for y'all so here we go.

I like to do some research before I go out and invest in a
new product...especially one that I put on my skin.
I started hearing about these BB creams on a few
blogs and online so I decided I should check them out.
My first question was,
What the heck is a BB cream?

Here's what I found.
A BB cream is 'an all-in-one product that combines the function
of a primer, anti-aging serum, moisturizer, and light foundation- plus many contain
added benefits like SPF.'

Then I went on to search for the best ones.
These popped up on numerous sites so I figured they were legit -

If you wanna compare more, this is a good site to check out.
I know it's a lot of information but I love knowing everything
there is to know before I make a switch. So maybe you're like me :)

Ok so onto the review.
Pro's-
- I love the way it goes on and makes my skin feel.
It's a matte foundation with a moisturizer in it so it doesn't leave your
face all dry or greasy. I have sensitive, combination skin and this works great for me.
My face feels really smooth and it stays on all day.

- SPF 35.
I love a foundation that contains SPF. That way you don't
have to worry about putting on sunscreen when you go to the pool or beach.

- The price. At $38, it's still cheaper than the foundation and the primer that I use.
Here's what my previous routine looked like-

Primer/Foundation/Setting Powder
I'll be saving an average of $116 on makeup because the BB cream is supposed to take the place
all 3 of these. Who doesn't love saving moolah?!

Con's-
- I don't really have anything bad to say about this product yet because
I've only been using it for about a week.
I don't notice too big of a difference in coverage, but I don't like to
wear my makeup really heavy anyway. But if you're one that does
like to wear it a little heavier, you can always layer foundation on top.

Overall, I'm a fan of using a BB cream because of the benefits it offers.
I'm interested to see what some of the others are like so if you've
tried them before let me know what you think.

Would you consider switching to a BB cream?
If you have, which one do you use?
Do you like it?

e.l.f. review

Let's take a moment and be honest.
If you're like me, you clean your make-up brushes every few months.
Ideally, we're supposed to clean those bad boys once a week. ooops!
I recently bought the e.l.f. brush shampoo
This stuff is great because
 * it's $3
* it's antibacterial
* a little goes a long way

Fill up a small dish with a little bit of the shampoo and warm water.

I found for your concealer & foundation brushes, it's best to put soap directly on them and wash under the faucet. You may have to do this twice depending on how often you wash your brushes.
Rinse and lay out to dry overnight.

Happy cleaning :)

Fake It 'Til You Make It

Minds out of the gutter girls ;)
I'm talking about falsies here.
Do y'all wear them?
I have to know.
I may be waaaay behind the curve here but I tried my first pair over the weekend and I'm hooked.

I got the ones by e.l.f.
For just $1 you really can't beat it.
The first day I wore them, I didn't use enough glue so they started to come off but I wore them again on Sunday without any issues.

What do y'all think?
I'm gonna bat these bad boys and see what I can get ;)

happy monday girls!
xoxo.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday chicas!
We made it to the middle of the week...which I say is a success coming off a long weekend :)

Today I'm linking up with the lovely Jamie and Michelle for WILW & Oh How Pinteresting.
Let's begin.

I'm loving-

one.
this liquid eyeliner from e.l.f.
For those of you like myself who completely suck at using liquid liner, this baby is a gem. It's so easy to apply and there's no mess! Love it!! ....and it's only $1. Get out.

two.
getting things in the mail. no, not like mail mail, but fun mail. like packages from VS, Express, and even LLBean for little man.

three.
that tomorrow is December and I can finally unveil my Christmas list. I've refused to post it until after Thanksgiving, so come back for that baby tomorrow!

four.
Pinterest.
seriously. love. it.
I have pinned so many little treasures lately that I can only share two of my boards and spare you pinning overload. :)

I want all of these clothes to magically appear in my closet.
....if only.

Y'all should know by now that I've gotta have a pair of shoes on the list.
Omg waaaant!

What are you loving today?
xoxo.

Top 5 Tuesday

Hello lovelies!
Today I'm linking up with Rachel @ Just Peachy.

Everyday Makeup Products

I've never really been a 'cake-face' as you would call it but I do love me some makeup.
These are some items I couldn't prefer not to live without.

 Face

1. Foundation-
I've always been a loyal customer to Clinique since I started wearing makeup. However, I've never been satisfied with their foundations. Over the summer while I was traveling, I stopped into a Sephora to find something new. I knew I wanted to try something different but I had no idea where to even begin. {If I'm going to get someone to help me with makeup, I always look at their makeup first to see if theirs is done similar to the way I would do it. Can't have any of that neon yellow shadow sister!}
Anywho, I found a young girl that looked like me and asked her for help. Turns out she was the rep for this brand I'd never heard of before, Cover FX. I told her what I was looking for, something natural, and she brought a bunch of makeup over to play around with. So fun :)
Long story short...or not so short, I ended up buying this tinted moisturizer as a base and I love it! I also purchased the foundation to put on top.

2. Concealer-

All About Eyes in Light Petal. I {love} this stuff. I put it on once in the morning and I'm good to go for the rest of the day. Goodbye sleepy eyes!

3. Powder-

Setting FX Translucent Powder. I've never worn powder up until this summer and now that I wear it I won't turn back! I used to complain that my makeup would come off during the day....not anymore. This stuff is amazing! Plus it has a very light iridescence to brighten you up. :)

I also use a bronzer and blush from Clinique that I'm not too fond of. If any of you have any recommendations for a good bronzer please let a girl know! :)

 Eyes

4. Shadow-

Almay Intense i-Color Smoky-i Powder. I switch my eye shadows up a lot but this one I found awhile back and I've been using it ever since. I've got hazel eyes and it really brings out the green in them.

5. Mascara-

Ok, so I'm grouping these mascaras together because I use them all everyday. Essential.
First I apply the Maybelline XXL Curl Power Mascara. I only use the primer side of this because I don't like how clumpy the actual black mascara is.

I then put on Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Water Resistant in Very Black. I love this mascara because it gets all my lashes and makes them look full- which is awesome considering I pick mine off. Bad, I know, but I've been doing it for years.

The last step of my mascara regimen, if you will, is the Maybelline Define-A-Lash Lengthening Mascara in Waterproof Very Black. This just finishes the look and makes my lashes look fab!

I also like to use a pewter liner from Revlon but I couldn't seem to find a picture of it.
Anyway, that's my top 5 makeup picks! {This post makes me sound high maintenance. Haha- I promise I'm not...most of the time! Just love to primp :)}

What makeup could you not live without?

Have a great day!
xoxo.

weekend of random pictures

It's safe to say that I was not looking forward to this past weekend for several reasons. Needless to say, it actually turned out to be one of the best weekends I've had all summer. Funny how things work out! My weekend involved lots of pool time, shopping, cooking out, hanging out, and spending time with my family.

I'm also in the process of fallifying my apartment. I definitely just made that up but I like it! :) I've got my cinnamon pumpkin candle that I just started burning (yum!), I went out and bought some dark red and purple bathroom sets (towels & rugs), and my dad got me some red and pink gerber daisies for my apartment.
L-O-V-E!

i love ma daddy!

I also made a couple of trips to Target this weekend. I went in both times with no agenda or list of items to get. Well, that is the wonderful dangerous thing about Target. You can have absolutely nothing you are going in there for and you come out spending no less than $75....in most cases $100. Gah!

I already mentioned the little bathroom goodies that I got....but here are a few other things that made it into my cart:

Sooo I have a pink grill, so what? :)
I plan on using this bad boy A LOT!

I love Bethenny Ever After and I've always thought that she
looked great, especially for just having a kid, so I impulsively purchased her yoga video....and a pink mat. I'm not a huge fan of yoga but I figured I can supplement my gym time with this....25 is quickly approaching and I plan to look my best! :)

I also picked up this little do-dad from the mall....my mom told me that it's great
after a night of crying. (thanks mom-haha)
This stuff is pretty awesome. I've used it a few times and can definitely tell a difference.
Sleepy & puffy eyes don't stand a chance with this stuff!
AND it goes on cool as a cucumber :)

I saw this at the store and definitely had to do a double take.
They got a little ballsy when it came time to name this guy...

And of course, what post is complete without a picture of Little Man?
 Ah, I LOVE him!!

Happy Monday!
Only 4 more days til the weekend :)
