Bachin' at the Beach

hello hello hello!
I see I have some new followers.

This week has been craaawling and work has been crazy busy and let me just say
that today could not have come fast enough. It's my Friday...again already.

This weekend is going to be one for the books for sure.
Saturday morning I'm headed to the beach for my friend's bachelorette party.
Talk about a crazy weekend to hit the beach!!
But I know it'll be a blast.
I even started a little weekend preparation yesterday.
oh yes I did ;)
I will post the how-to next week once I know how they turn out.

I'm loving that when I come back from the beach, it'll be September.
There are so many fun and exciting things planned on the bloggy blog for next month so put your party pants on!! More on that next week.

Well chicas, I'm out.
Have a wonderful, amazing, superfuntastic labor day weekend!!

Weekend Recap- July 4th Edition

Is it really Monday already?!
I guess I can't complain.
I just had 5 days off....but still. Gotta love vacation time :)

How was y'alls weekend?
Mine was ah-mazingly long and I loved every minute of it!
I took a much needed break from technology and it was fabulous!

I have to preface this post by saying that my phone is very temper mental and
takes pictures only when it wants to. So I don't have very many from the long weekend :/
When the iPhone 5 comes out, y'all better prepare yourselves
for picture overload.

Ok, so I have some catching up for you guys today.
first off, let me just say that this was the best July 4th I've had in 3 years!
I got to go to my friend, Audrey's, country club pool (um, can we say country club boys?! ahem)
and of course we cocktailed it up ;)

my version of this watermelon mint spritzer
follow the instant cocktail recipe and add the vodka ;)
trust me, it's delicious.
3 cocktails in and a little poolside photo shoot later...

The pic on the right is of the 'penny dive'.
quote of the day: "I don't dive for pennies. I dive for quarters."

We seriously debated on the greased watermelon contest and
thought better of it. No need to walk around all day with
vaseline on your arms....

my attempt at one of the july 4th nails on pinterest

Then we cooked out and hung out at her new house
and I may or may not have passed out before fireworks
and then woke up just in time for some apple pie
and then fell back asleep.
keep your judgements to yourself.

Thursday was errand day and then I pooled it up again on Friday.
It was hot as a mofo!!

If you look close enough you'll see that I'm finally getting
around to reading Mockingjay.
Better late than never...

Saturday I'm sure I hit mega fatty status.
French toast from Cracker Barrel
a cupcake
popcorn
soda
candy
and then Outback for dinner

{It's ok...I workout}
ha, I'm pretty sure Olivia will smack me if she hears me say
that one more time.

Speaking of Liv,
she found this gem on Pinterest and said it was me.
I won't deny it.

How was y'alls weekend?
xoxo.

I'm On a Boat

happy tuesday lovebugs!
and welcome back :)

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend.
I spent mine at Smith Mountain Lake; where apparently another famous blogger was vacationing as well. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to meet up...but there's always next time! :)

The weekend was ah-mazing and I only wish we could go back and do it again.
That being said, enjoy the photo dump.

Wearing all the neon I own.
Super excited about that if you couldn't tell.

 We toasted.

We sat in fun beach chairs.

 We jet skied

 We drank lime-a-ritas

 We were on a boat.
now that song is gonna be stuck in your head all day
you're welcome :)

 We stayed up til 6am.

We learned to Dougie.

We celebrated.

We had fun

and we didn't want to leave.

How did you spend your memorial day weekend?
xoxo.

Thanksgiving Recap/Weekend/Day to Remember

Happy Monday loves.
I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend and that you ate just as much food {if not more} than I did! ;) I feel like this post is going to be a bit lengthy so I won't be offended if you don't stick around long enough to get to the bottom. {I lie...cause I always save the best for last.}
Seriously!

Let's begin shall we?

Thanksgiving-
We had our entire family over for Thanksgiving this year, which was the first time since I can remember. There were 14 of us total....well 15 if you count Toby. Little man got some turkey and had his own baby turkey leg. It was a huge success and we all had so much fun, and surprisingly enough, I can't wait to get together with everyone again.
Here are some pics from my sister's iphone-

I was not one of the many crazies to head out on Black Friday this year. I did it last year and that cured it for me...and Olivia....and Jake. I knew lots of people that started their shopping Thanksgiving night. I don't know about y'all but it seems to me like Thanksgiving is starting to lose it's meaning. It used to be a day spent relaxing with family and friends and now it's turning into another shopping day....isn't that what Friday is for?! That's my take on it anyway. Cyber Monday is my new bff. Speaking of, there are some sales calling my name today!

Weekend-
Saturday I went to the Tech/UVA game in Charlottesville. Huge Rivalry! In Virginia, regardless of whatever college you decide to go to, you are brought up choosing one of those 2 schools to root for. I chose VT a long time ago :) History lesson over. Back to Saturday. It was my first time tailgating ever. Hard to believe that I made it 25 years without doing it. Anyway, we got to the stadium at 6...as in 6am....still dark out. I refused to come out of the truck until at least 9am...7am doesn't even come twice a day for me, ok? Needless to say, tailgating was tons of fun....not sure I wanna do it again for a while though. I had a little too much fun ;) If you didn't tune into the game, Tech not only beat UVA, we shut them out! As in 38-0. Whoop whoop! Next week we're heading to Charlotte for the ACC Championship game against Clemson. Go Hokies!!

 new friends :)

Logan Thomas aka QB/man of the game

#7 Marcus Davis
Huge game for him...and we got to tailgate with his momma. Girlfriend is a riot!

Day to Remember-
Today is special for 2 reasons.
one.
Grandpapa would be 70 today. Instead of being here, he's celebrating his birthday with Grandmama in Heaven. I love you so much Grandpapa!

two.
Toby is 9 months today. I can't believe how fast the little stinker is growing!
1st night home- 2 months old

8 months old- still cute as ever! :)

Phew! Told ya it was a read!
How were y'alls weekends? Did you brave the crowds and end up going out on Black Friday?
xoxo.

Friends, Football, & {Boys?}

Why hello, lovelies!
I feel like I've been so out of touch and it was only for a day! {and a half} :)
I enjoyed every minute of my long weekend. I wish every week could be that short.

Early Thursday afternoon I made the almost 4 hour drive down to Tech. It had been 4 years since I last made the trip and for some reason this time felt longer. Lucky for me, I had an amazing playlist and some Amp to get me through. I'm not gonna lie, it was a party in my car.

The weather was so crazy from the rain at the beginning of my trip, to it actually snowing by the time I got to Blacksburg. I am seriously in love with Tech. The campus is beautiful and it's just flocked with young people {obviously}. I miss it.

So anyway, I get to my lovely friend Lauren's apartment and she has a drink waiting for me when I walk through the door. Not even kidding. This girl is awesome! :)

{We had a little fun with photo booth....so what? :)}
I'm not sure how many of you watched the game that night but I'm sure you could tell it was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g! They actually said it was the fourth coldest game at Tech ever. We froze our little butts off until we just couldn't take it anymore {right before halftime.}

We watched the rest of the game from her apartment as we got ready to go out. Of course, the Hokies won and are heading to UVA next weekend for a chance to win a trip to Charlotte for the championship game. If you aren't from Virginia, Tech and UVA are huge rivals and they always play Thanksgiving weekend. I've always wanted to go to this game and this year I finally get to go! I can't wait!!

The rest of the night was a blast. Can I just say that I'm finally past the transition phase and being single is so much fun! And Tech is the perfect place for it. 60/40 ratio guys to girls. I'll take it! Haha

Anyway, now it's back to reality. Saturday night I came home and did some shopping and baking all while trying to fight off a sore throat. Just as I thought, I woke up yesterday and today barely able to speak so it's my mission to knock this thing out asap cause this girl doesn't have time to sit around and let it take its course. Not this week. Keep your fingers crossed that this passes quickly :)

Oh, and can I just say that I definitely made sure to capitalize on the whole 2 for 1 drinks at Starbucks this weekend? {twice!} hehe

What did y'all do this weekend?
xoxo.

happy freaking friday!

Smile-
it's Friday! We made it to the weekend :)

{via}

The weather could not be more perfect today. Fall is finally here. I took Toby on a walk this morning wearing shorts and a sweatshirt and I was still chilly! I could definitely get used to weather like this everyday...so long as it doesn't get any colder. It would've been the perfect morning to treat myself to a PSL, but I couldn't get my little butt out of bed.

Several things to leave you with today.

First, I hope that none of you watched the NFL Network's Special on Bill Belichick last night. They have got to be out of their minds to do a two-part series on this loser. You would think that they would like to highlight the men of character on these shows, someone that kids can look up to. I have to say that I'm very disappointed in the network for their choice on this one....

I'm going to get my hair done today! Every time I go into this place I am put in a better mood. I seriously love everything about this salon. (Gotta give a shout-out to my girl Audrey!)

I get to go visit the birthday girl at school on Sunday for her birthday dinner! From what I've heard, shopping, a delicious dinner, and sweet frog may be in our future.

I heard this song on my way to work this morning and it really got me motivated to do the things that I love and are important to me.

Live Like We're Dying- Kris Allen

Sometimes we fall down, can't get back up
We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say I love you enough
Till it's to late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
And we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you,
What would you wish you would've done

Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
So when we long for absolution,
There'll no one on the line, yeah

You never know a good thing till it's gone
You never see a crash till it's head on
Why do we think we're right when we're dead wrong
You never know a good thing till it's gone

Yeah, we gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinking
If every second counts on a clock that's ticking
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or to throw it all away
We gotta tell them that we love them
While we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying..

What inspires you to do the things you love?

Happy weekend ya'll :)

Cheers to the freakin weekend

So today is supposed to be my confession day but I had such a fun and eventful weekend that I decided to save those for next week.

A group of us went down to Smith Mountain Lake last weekend to my friend KJ's lake house. It was such a good time and definitely a much needed break from reality.

He was able to save his beer after being dumped in

We went to this outside bar on the water with a live band. We had daquiris and enjoyed dancing to the live band....and maaaybe the cupid shuffle. maybe. :)

Lauren & I

The whole group before heading over to the tiki bar
(bumpiest. ride. ever.)

I think Tequila summarizes the weekend perfectly with this. :)

Happy Tuesday!
