I'm so excited for today's post because I get to tell you about all most of our trip :)
We made a 20 minute
..............
yes, you read that right,
20 minute vlog
and apparently it was too large to upload or send so I had to cut it in half.
I need an iMovie for dummies guide. ha!
Alright, so onto the fun stuff.
(I totally stole all these photos from Dayna cause I'm still rockin' the droid and my camera sucks)
first of all, gf picked me up at the airport at 8am.
keep in mind that she's an hour behind me, so she had to get up at 3am. thanks again girlfraaaand :)
and of course, she made me a sign :)
and ran around the airport parking deck with it.
we played around in Buckhead
and then we went to a cute little tequila bar across the street from our hotel
to celebrate our trip :)
then it was onto our little surprise I had for the birthday girl.
that's right.
we got blowouts.
thanks to ashley's recommendation, we went to this cute little salon
called dry bar. I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you are ever
in Atlanta. For $35 you get your hair washed & styled and you get your choice of wine, champagne, or a mimosa. I will definitely be hitting them up for date nights ;)
We thought it would be fun to get our makeup done so we got a cab and headed to the mall.
(for that adventure, you have to watch our vlog....sorry!)
We ended up meeting up with another blogger,V, for dinner and drinks. Girls, if you don't follow this chica yet, you need to. She is a blast in a glass! jersey shore, anyone?!
crickets???
ok anywayyyy
we had planned on hitting up a drunk brunch on saturday,
but someone (ahem) went a little hard the night before and the thought of drinking made us sick.
so we did the next best thing, hit up the free breakfast at the hotel.
then we got ready to meet this girlfor lunch.
she's one of my favorite bloggers, so I can't even begin to tell you how ecstatic I was to finally meet her in person. let me just say, that these girls are all way more amazing in real life.
anyway, for the crazy nail story head on over to her blog and read her post from monday.
after all the craziness, we met up with my friend Jenny who just moved down there from Richmond.
We hung out before heading to the Braves game, which in and of itself was an adventure.
After the game, we got to watch a free little concert from B.O.B at the stadium. #nbd
I can't stop listening to his stuff now....thanks a lot sir.
and I was trying to find a picture of his shirt bc it was pretty bada#$ but I can't.
it said #super cali fragi listic expiali dope shit
sunday came and we packed up, got some starbuckys, made the crazy vlog below, and then headed to the airport. The weekend came and went far too quickly but don't you worry Atlanta, we'll be back! ;)
This was the only video we made since we were short on time so excuse the rawness and the scatterbrained comments. and my annoying laugh and faces
Hi y'all! I’m Nikki and I blog over at The Pink Growl. Little miss Sarah asked me to do a guest post for her while she's been busy livin' it up in the ATL, so here we are! A little bit about me…My blog explores the everyday adventures of a Southern belle wanna be. I'm a girly girl, soon-to-be cop's wifey, doggy mama, and Vol for life. If it glitters, is gold or growls then I probably love it. I keep it real on my blog talking about everything from weight issues, the urge to get married & reproduce, planning my wedding and any random crazy ideas that comes into my head. Come on over and help me figure things out, one normal girl struggle at a time!
Our girl Sarah and I both share a love of the lake. A couple weeks ago you read all about her weekend lake adventure. I'm blessed to have grown up on the beautiful Norris Lake in East TN. I live about 20 minutes away now, but that doesn't stop me from escaping there any chance I get. Here's my idea of Heaven - ahhh, refreshing right?
Since Sarah and I aren't the only lake rats out there, I thought I would let you guys get a glimpse at my essentials for my lake bag. I didn't want to bombard you with pictures so I tried to make a collage; obviously my editing skills are sub-par, but you get the idea.
1. Most Important Items - Boat Keys for obvious reasons - we have actually driven all the way up there before and realized the keys were still at home. No! No! iPhone for picture taking and music pleasure. Favorite Koozy because you gotta keep your drink cool on a humid TN summer day. For hydration purposes and all.
2. Clothing Items - Cute Fedora - I'm not really a hat girl, but I love this fedora. It's perfect for keeping your face and head covered. Plus, it's fashionable! Boardshorts - although not the most attractive piece of clothing, I always keep a pair in my bag because I won't wakeboard without them. It's impossible to keep your bottoms in order while showing off your skills so these are just for good manners. *A bathing suit cover up is always with me at the lake, but I use a much of different ones so I don't keep one in my bag*
3. Hair & Body - Wonder Waves - My hair is naturally wavy so at the lake I usually either have it up in a pony or I spray some of this great stuff in it and let it air dry. VS Heavenly Shimmer Lotion - sometimes after hours in the sun, my skin needs some moisture so why not make it sparkly too?
4. Sun Protection - A MUST! SPF 15 Chapstick, SPF 30 Face Sunscreen & SPF 8 Bronzer, I also use SPF 30 spray sunscreen on my body (not pictured because I ran out!)
And that cute lil' Roxy number is the actual bag all this loot is housed in.
I usually have this thing packed full of other items - snacks, magazines, extra clothes, towels - but I tried to keep it to just the basics for this post. So tell me, what are you lake/pool bag essentials?
Thank you for having me, Sarah!! I hope to see some of you guys over at The Pink Growl soon!
*************************************************
Isn't she just the cutest?
I want everything that's in your bag!!
Now head on over to her blog and show her some love!
And make sure to stop by tomorrow for our Atlanta blate recap :)
There may or may not be a vlog (if I can get iMovie to work)
I hope y'all enjoyed your weekend!
I'm loving that we sprang forward and that it stays lighter longer.
That means I can take little man for walks after work.
ohhh the little things :)
So I know you're all dyyyyyying to hear about my blate last week.
It was my first ever and it couldn't have gone better.
I met up with five amazing girls - Jayme & Mendi Aimee Sydney Sarah
We decided to do happy hour at a place called Firebirds in Short Pump Mall.
We were obviously having too much fun to take any pictures {shame on us} but I can promise to have some next time :)
I got the best compliment everrrrrr this weekend from this girl. Bethany: Did you watch the fsu unc game?!! Dude.. You look just like Erin Andrews! Me: awww you're too nice :) thanks for totally making my dayyy Bethany: You dooo!!! Same shape face and everything!!
I cannot even begin to tell you how much that meant to me.
Bethany, you are now my new bff! :)
Did you catch the Jerzathon this weekend?
Well, I wish I could say I got to spend all weekend watching my favorite guidos buuuut I can't. Vinny was live tweeting during the show I was watching and I made several attempts to get him to tweet me back. fail.
So I kind of had this idea.....I think it would be fun to see if I can get him to follow me. This is where y'all come in. All you have to do is tweet him here and tell him to follow meeee :) I would appreciate it and love each of you forever and ever! xo.
Unless you're a caveman, then I'm sure you saw something about the Kony Movement yesterday. Facebook, twitter, and blogs were blowing up with links and videos. Apparently this has been going on for years but it's just being brought to the attention of the american public. If you haven't yet, take the time to watch this video.
yes, it's thirty minutes.
it's worth it.
trust me.
IF THE WORLD KNOWS WHO JOSEPH KONY IS, IT WILL UNITE TO STOP HIM.
IT STARTS HERE.
KONY 2012 IS A FILM AND CAMPAIGN BY INVISIBLE CHILDREN THAT AIMS TO MAKE JOSEPH KONY FAMOUS, NOT TO CELEBRATE HIM, BUT TO RAISE SUPPORT FOR HIS ARREST AND SET A PRECEDENT FOR INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE.
I literally almost cried while watching him give his farewell speech.
Not only am I sad to see him go, I'm pissed that the idiot we know as Jim Irsay aka the owner acted like he was sad. Dude, we all know those tears were fake.
As lame as it sounds, I honestly feel like Peyton died.
Watching the replay of the press conference and a special on the years we had him on our team, I felt as though I was grieving the loss of someone. And in a way, I am.
Please pinch me and wake me up from this bad dream.
We will have so many great memories of Peyton and that's what we'll remember.
On a happier note, I'm attending my first ever blogger meet-up.....
or shall I say blate, tonight.
I don't know any of these girls, and I'm kind of nervous but hey,
