Weekend Recap- July 4th Edition

Is it really Monday already?!
I guess I can't complain.
I just had 5 days off....but still. Gotta love vacation time :)

How was y'alls weekend?
Mine was ah-mazingly long and I loved every minute of it!
I took a much needed break from technology and it was fabulous!

I have to preface this post by saying that my phone is very temper mental and
takes pictures only when it wants to. So I don't have very many from the long weekend :/
When the iPhone 5 comes out, y'all better prepare yourselves
for picture overload.

Ok, so I have some catching up for you guys today.
first off, let me just say that this was the best July 4th I've had in 3 years!
I got to go to my friend, Audrey's, country club pool (um, can we say country club boys?! ahem)
and of course we cocktailed it up ;)

my version of this watermelon mint spritzer
follow the instant cocktail recipe and add the vodka ;)
trust me, it's delicious.
3 cocktails in and a little poolside photo shoot later...

The pic on the right is of the 'penny dive'.
quote of the day: "I don't dive for pennies. I dive for quarters."

We seriously debated on the greased watermelon contest and
thought better of it. No need to walk around all day with
vaseline on your arms....

my attempt at one of the july 4th nails on pinterest

Then we cooked out and hung out at her new house
and I may or may not have passed out before fireworks
and then woke up just in time for some apple pie
and then fell back asleep.
keep your judgements to yourself.

Thursday was errand day and then I pooled it up again on Friday.
It was hot as a mofo!!

If you look close enough you'll see that I'm finally getting
around to reading Mockingjay.
Better late than never...

Saturday I'm sure I hit mega fatty status.
French toast from Cracker Barrel
a cupcake
popcorn
soda
candy
and then Outback for dinner

{It's ok...I workout}
ha, I'm pretty sure Olivia will smack me if she hears me say
that one more time.

Speaking of Liv,
she found this gem on Pinterest and said it was me.
I won't deny it.

How was y'alls weekend?
xoxo.

Pool days with friends and drinks are the absolute best! That's what summer's all about! And oh yeah, I like your thinking...eating junk food is ok because we go to the gym and workout haha. Why else would we go to the gym anyway?

Your holiday sounds SO fun! Sometimes you just need a little nap to keep up with everyone else -- I missed the homecoming football game last year but woke up in time for dinner with my boyfriend's family. :) glad you had a ton of fun!

Haha. I love that last pin! I tell my husband all the time I want to just be a housewife...and then he reminds me of my student loans. Ha. Looks like a fabulous 4th weekend!

Uh, how I am just now finding your blog? I came across it today from the link up. Girl, you seriously cracked me up. And you so remind me of Erin Andrews...and I am not going to lie, being a housewife is pretty fan-tab-ulous!
Cheers!

As long as you work out, eat whatever you want. And that ecard is basically my life. I have a Masters and instead of working, I just hang out all day with my 6 month old son. Whatevs!

Thanks for linking up!

Hahaha, love this post!! I feel like this entire past week has been a giant fail in the healthy-eating department.

My coworker's daughter made me 4 red velvet cupcakes (with white chocolate cream cheese icing and semi-sweet chocolate filling) and 4 german chocolate cupcakes with caramel filling, and I have singlehandedly consumed 5 of them in 4 days.

Cupcakes = why I work out. :)

Looks like you had a great holiday. Ugh, I need to run more because I caught the skinnies and was able to eat more. Now I just eat. No good.
