Turning over a new leaf...aaaand Football Friday

I have a confession.
I've been holding onto something for quite a while now that I shouldn't be and I can confidently say that I am ready to finally let it go. After having numerous talks with close friends and family, and coming across some things, I have come to the realization that I need to move on. Now, for those of you who don't really know me but may have read some of the posts on here, I have hinted at what I am talking about.

A breakup. Blahh. I hate that word.

But that's reality. My ex and I broke up at the end of the summer and have been talking on and off since then. We'd been doing long distance over the summer and it wasn't awful but it wasn't fun either. And I can honestly say that it ONLY works when BOTH people want it to. In my case, unfortunately, I was the only one trying. Having this space has opened my eyes to a lot of things that I knew were unhealthy over the course of two years but I just didn't do anything about. Why would I now, knowing what I know want to get back into that? That's what I kept asking myself for 2 months. I didn't know why I wanted so badly for things to work out, but I just did. Having this week off has allowed me to have some real time to think.

What was I thinking?!
There are lots of guys out there who have a good heart and want the same things I do.
Why would I waste anymore time on a person who doesn't/never did care about me?
So I'm not. And I am so relieved to have finally realized this....after months of being an idiot.
I'm sure my friends are all screaming "FINALLY!!" Thank you guys for listening to my trying to rationalize things and venting fits. It means so much to me to have so many people care. Love you all :)

That being said, I'm turning over a new leaf. I'm not holding out hope anymore. I've started doing things that will benefit me, and only me for now. If there is anything I've learned this week it's that life is too short to sit around and wait. I know Grandpapa would be proud of this decision and I'm sure that he already knows it :)

I found this quote the other day and it's been sitting on my desktop for me to see it and beat it into my brain on a daily basis.

Ok, so now for the new segment I'm going to start.
FOOTBALL FRIDAY!

If you know me you know I love football, and if you don't you will soon realize. If you didn't catch my post on why girls should watch NFL, you can read that here.
Remember last week when I was fussing about the new NFL Network show featuring Bill Belichick? I refused to watch his series but I did find out that next week Kurt Warner will be on it.

Thank you!!

Prediction time.
Here's how this is going to work. This week I'm going to make my picks based on feeling and not stats and see how I do. Cause, you know they say girls are better at making picks anyway. So I'm gonna do a little test and see which way makes sense. Fingers crossed ladies!
