Weekending

Goooood morning lovebugs!
Did y'all enjoy your weekend? I'm never ready for Monday to come around....
but here we are. So I'm making the most of it :)

I'm trying a new routine and woke up at the crack of dawn this morning. Not even kidding.
I normally think it's a sin to wake up while it's still dark out, but it beats rushing til the last second and feeling exhausted. Anyway, I woke up and took Toby for a walk. in the cold. Surprisingly it was refreshing and I know little man enjoyed it. I had my cup of coffee, made a smoothie, and packed my lunch for the week. I feel so accomplished :)

Since last week literally took it out of me, I decided to take it easy this weekend.
I'm so glad I did because I feel rested and in a much better mindset.
I also tried my hand at my first ever Pinterest recipe.
It was the Buttermilk-Blueberry Breakfast Cake.
You can find the recipe here.
I substituted whole wheat flour for regular flour and I think it still tasted delicious. I would definitely make it again.

I refused to open the Hunger Games on Saturday because I knew there were some things I needed to accomplish and I couldn't afford to sit around and read all day. But I did manage to crack it open on Sunday and ended up reading 11 chapters. I can't remember the last time I've been able to do that. I almost purchased the second book in anticipation of finishing the first, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Ok, so remember when I was having shampoo dilemmas?
Welllllll if you recall, last week I said that I ended up getting the Paul Mitchell Extra Volume Shampoo. After using that for a week I decided to return it because it was way too heavy and ended up making my hair look & feel greasy. Not a fan.
Soooo now I'm back to old faithful - Herbal Essence Volumizing Shampoo
I figured that I'll use that until spring when I'll go get the stuff my salon sells. It's seriously the best set of hair products I've ever used. I'll share that with y'all once I start using it :)

Thank you to everyone who participated in the link-up on Friday!
I was surprised and excited by how many of you joined in.
Can't wait to hear about your successes this week :)

happy monday!
xoxo.

the Hunger Games are impossible to put down until you finish! I can't wait for the movie to be out!
and I'm trying to make myself get out of bed earlier too.. but it's SO hard! I could probably get so much more accomplished.. but when it's still dark outside I can't do it.

The Hunger Games is such a good series! I'm glad you like it...I could totally waste the day away reading it! And I hate getting up when it's dark out too! It just seems wrong.

I really need to start reading that book! I said I was going to buy it the other day, but I'm afraid of how much time I'll spend on it.

Your dog is adorable and his name is so cute! Do you have any tips/advice for someone that's looking to become a small dog owner?

Sometimes, if I have hair issues- I'll wash with my shampoo and then only use the conditioner on the bottom of my hair (pretty much everywhere but the roots), and it has much more volume! Just an idea!
