What's in Her Bag - Lake Edition

Mornin' ladies!
I'm still in recovery mode today so I've got my good friend Nikki talking with y'all today.
She and I have A LOT in common, including our girlyness and our love for the lake.
(I think we need to have a blate on your boat - just sayin) :)

************************************************************
Hi y'all! I’m Nikki and I blog over at The Pink Growl. Little miss Sarah asked me to do a guest post for her while she's been busy livin' it up in the ATL, so here we are! A little bit about me…My blog explores the everyday adventures of a Southern belle wanna be. I'm a girly girl, soon-to-be cop's wifey, doggy mama, and Vol for life. If it glitters, is gold or growls then I probably love it. I keep it real on my blog talking about everything from weight issues, the urge to get married & reproduce, planning my wedding and any random crazy ideas that comes into my head. Come on over and help me figure things out, one normal girl struggle at a time!

Our girl Sarah and I both share a love of the lake. A couple weeks ago you read all about her weekend lake adventure. I'm blessed to have grown up on the beautiful Norris Lake in East TN. I live about 20 minutes away now, but that doesn't stop me from escaping there any chance I get. Here's my idea of Heaven - ahhh, refreshing right?
Since Sarah and I aren't the only lake rats out there, I thought I would let you guys get a glimpse at my essentials for my lake bag. I didn't want to bombard you with pictures so I tried to make a collage; obviously my editing skills are sub-par, but you get the idea.

1. Most Important Items - Boat Keys for obvious reasons - we have actually driven all the way up there before and realized the keys were still at home. No! No! iPhone for picture taking and music pleasure. Favorite Koozy because you gotta keep your drink cool on a humid TN summer day. For hydration purposes and all.
2. Clothing Items - Cute Fedora - I'm not really a hat girl, but I love this fedora. It's perfect for keeping your face and head covered. Plus, it's fashionable! Boardshorts - although not the most attractive piece of clothing, I always keep a pair in my bag because I won't wakeboard without them. It's impossible to keep your bottoms in order while showing off your skills so these are just for good manners. *A bathing suit cover up is always with me at the lake, but I use a much of different ones so I don't keep one in my bag*
3. Hair & Body - Wonder Waves - My hair is naturally wavy so at the lake I usually either have it up in a pony or I spray some of this great stuff in it and let it air dry. VS Heavenly Shimmer Lotion - sometimes after hours in the sun, my skin needs some moisture so why not make it sparkly too?
4. Sun Protection - A MUST! SPF 15 Chapstick, SPF 30 Face Sunscreen & SPF 8 Bronzer, I also use SPF 30 spray sunscreen on my body (not pictured because I ran out!)

And that cute lil' Roxy number is the actual bag all this loot is housed in.

I usually have this thing packed full of other items - snacks, magazines, extra clothes, towels - but I tried to keep it to just the basics for this post. So tell me, what are you lake/pool bag essentials?

Thank you for having me, Sarah!! I hope to see some of you guys over at The Pink Growl soon!

Isn't she just the cutest?
I want everything that's in your bag!!
Now head on over to her blog and show her some love!

And make sure to stop by tomorrow for our Atlanta blate recap :)
There may or may not be a vlog (if I can get iMovie to work)
xoxo.

A Little Vitamin C for your Monday

Mornin' lovebugs!
I hope y'all had a great weekend!
(I seriously wanna hear all about it so linkup with Sami, Dana, & Leann)

Mine weekend was busy busy busy.
Little bro graduated on Saturday; and of course we couldn't make it through the day without playing Vitamin C's Graduation.

As we go onnnnn
we rememberrrrr
all the times we
spent togetherrrrr
:)

I'm not sure that I've shared this with any of you before, but my mom home-schooled all four of us. I was only home-schooled for 3 years but my brother, whose the youngest, started when he was in 2nd grade. So now my mom is out of a job so to speak, but I'm pretty sure she's ready to start doing her own thing....aka traveling.

By now y'all should know that I pretty much suck at taking pictures.
But I did manage to snag some from a few people's cameras :)

We had an ahhh-mazing dinner at PF Changs after the ceremony and then it was partay time the next day. Of course, Jake went golfing all day and just had to show up at his party with everything done. I guess that's what happens when you're the baby of the family. ha

And these would be the only pics I got of the party.
Funfetti cupcakes.
go me. ha

happy monday!
xoxo.

Miscellany Monday

Happy Monday loves!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I've been catching up on your blogs and it seems like some of you did :)
Today I'm linking up with Carissa for Miscellany Monday.

Miscellany Monday @
lowercase letters

one.
I'm seriously going to petition the veto of Monday{and Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri} as a workday.
On the bright side, it is gorgeous outside. 75 degrees & sunny in November?! I'll take it!

two.
Justin Timberlake was in town this weekend.
Let me say that again just in case you didn't read that correctly.

Justin Timberlake was in town this weekend!!
When I first heard this I wondered how in the heck I had missed that tid bit of information. Come to find out, I don't think anyone really knew he was in town. Boo. Thanks a lot, Justin. You left me behind.

three.
The Caramel Brulee Latte arrives tomorrow!
Need I say more?
Thanks Starbucks, for feeding my addiction even more now.

four.
I impulsively bought a pair of boots over the weekend that I now need to take back. {shocker there}
I love the way they look but they just end up coming up too high on my leg. And they irritate me. No bueno.

five.
My weekend starts on Thursday this week due to the fact that I'm heading to VaTech for the game that night. Yayy for short work weeks!

.....and for being random!

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday lovelies!
Did y'all have a great weekend? I'm still looking for that extra hour we supposedly gained....ah! So tired today. I've got so much to tell you and it's all going to come out super random and I am totally okay with that today.
So here goes-

{one}
As I posted on Friday, my baby brother turned 18 on Saturday. Ah, so sad. Poor boy had to take the SAT's that morning, but then he had a lunch date with a certain female friend {aka homecoming date} Bow-chica-wow-wow. :) He had some friends over to partayy later and they ended up smoking cigars before the night was over. Well, you know I had to get my hands on one, just to say I've tried it. Let me tell you, I did it and I don't ever feel the need to do it again. But it wasn't bad....I just don't see the point.

Check it- Personalized cigars.

Moving on.

{two}
One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world was having a party Saturday night as well, to 'celebrate/mourn' the fact that her boyfriend got an amazing job.....in Louisiana. Boo. Anyway, this party had a theme. What was it you ask?
Flannel & Fifths :)

Fun that night.....not so fun Sunday morning.
And half these guys had to get up to go play in a football tournament. I honestly do not know how they could function. But not only did they play 3 games, they won the whole freaking thing! {I definitely want to play next year :)}

{three}
I bought this liner for Halloween and wore it to said party and I love it!
Reasons why I love this little baby:
1. It was only $1
2. I suck at using liquid liner and it was super easy to put on
3. Did I mention it was only $1?

{four}
Please tell me you watched my boys play yesterday. Well "my boys" are my Colts, who once again lost yesterday. Woo 0-9 baby! At least when we commit to something we go all in. Let's get that draft pick.

But I'm asking if you watched my men.
See below :)
I love you. Both.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing Tom Brady upset. So proud of my Eli <3
And Tim Tebow, well, he's just easy to look at. :)

Hope you're all having a great Monday!
xoxo.

Miscellany Monday

Happy Monday!
I hope ya'll had a good weekend.

It's Miscellaneous Monday, aka a fancy name for 'I have the Monday bug and can't gather all my thoughts into just one.' :)

{1}
I got to see the not-so-new Lincoln Lawyer over the weekend and I loved it! If you haven't seen it yet, you should. It's really good.
{2}
I was uber productive this weekend. I switched over my closet and purged a lot of clothes and jewelry. I thought of taking a picture of the mess buuttt decided to spare you from that madness. :)
{3}
I went 4/12 on my picks so far. Ouch. I didn't pick my Colts for once and then it looked like they were going to pull out a win. But no. It's ok though, I'm actually rooting against them at this point so we can get a good draft pick. Never thought I'd hear those words come out my mouth.
Story of our lives this season.

{4}
Toby enjoyed spending some time at the grandparents over the weekend.
Hence, Jungle Puppy :)
Little man all cozied up in his blanket with a bone.
{Spoiled? No....}

{5}
I found this and just had to post it.
So true. You won't catch me with a beer in my hand at all.
Sorry, I'm a wine girl :)

{6}
Here is my OOTD for work.
{excuse the ghostly legs-sister needs a tan}
Dress- Express
Shoes- Aldo

{7}
I'm loving all of the comments and new friends :)
I finally feel like I'm coming into my own in the blogging world and it means so much to me that you take the time to stop by. Ya'll make my day!
{8}
I'm ready for the weekend. Already.
Is that a bad sign?

Have a great day!
